In February 2022, Brisbane experienced a severe weather event, resulting in extensive river and creek flooding across 91% of the city’s suburbs. Over five days, cumulative rainfall reached 795mm, causing widespread damage to water and sewer infrastructure.
Allstar Infrastructure was engaged to renew and strengthen critical assets to enhance resilience, mitigate future damage, and support community well-being and economic stability.
SCOPE OF WORK:

Asset renewals in flood-prone areas

Replacement of pipe mains, manholes, valve chambers, and switchboards

Bulk excavation, piling, and construction of concrete structures

Pipe Laying and maintenance of pits and manholes

CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS:

Construction in creeks and flood zones during the wet season – Careful project scheduling and environmental risk management

Managing waterways while adhering to strict environmental regulations – Implemented best-practice water management techniques

High-risk activities – Safely conducted works at heights, near waterways, in confined spaces, and around large machinery

Geographically dispersed sites – Coordinated logistics and workforce deployment

Working within residential properties – Ensured minimal disruption and maintained strong community engagement
